Ring of Fire-Heart Ball 2014

I was honored to be invited to attend the American Heart Association Memphis Chapter’s 2014 Heart Ball! The original photographer backed out at the last minute, so I was asked to take photos at the event as well! Because first and foremost, my role is to help the AHA in any way I can, I was honored to be able to do this for them. It wasn’t easy!! The lighting was different in each room, so I had to adjust the camera and external flash accordingly and often. I got a few bewildered looks, I mean I can’t blame them…I’m sure I looked a site in my crown, sash and gown running around taking pictures of everything, but I had a blast!

The event was classy to the max. There was a silent auction with an array of amazing items. I saw a TN Titans signed football and I knew I had to bid on it for my dad, and I won it!!

There were 2 gentlemen doing a live painting as well. They painted something inspired by the evening and came up with something amazing! The heart is so neat. The painting was auctioned off during the live auction portion of the evening and fetched a high price, all for the AHA.

There was a photo booth and tattoo table as well. I got this lovely red heart tattoo and met the sweetest young lady. She asked to take a “selfie” with me (which I happily agreed to) and continued to snap photos of me with her cell phone while I got my tattoo. She was so sweet and made me feel so special. It was the highlight of my evening for sure.

We had a fantastic dinner, and then a live auction. People were very generous in helping the AHA reach their fund raising goal.

All the festivities, the amazing food, the band, and the reason we were there all made for an amazing evening. I am very blessed to have been able to attend.

I am very excited to continue my work with the AHA. ❤
